Frauke Boggasch wurde 1975 in Erlangen geboren und lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. „Sieg über die Sonne“ ist die zweite Einzelausstellung von Frauke Boggasch bei LAYR WUESTENHAGEN CONTEMPORARY. Boggasch studierte bis 2003 in Nürnberg, wo sie in der freien Medienklasse bei Rolf Gunter Dienst graduierte. Im Jahr 2005/06 erhielt sie den Debütantenpreis des Freistaats Bayerns und zur gleichen Zeit das DAAD Grant Tokyo. Nach der erfolgreichen Publikation „ELEND“, welche sie gemeinsam mit Dominik Sittig herausgegeben hat und der daraus abgeleiteten Ausstellung „Eine Teller Elend“ bei LAYR WUESTENHAGEN CONTEMPORARY, folgten Ausstellungen wie MICRO NARRATIVES, 48. October Salon/Museum Moderner Kunst, Belgrad (SRB) (Kat.), into the woods tonight, Galerie Parrotta, Stuttgart and Berlin (D) (Kat.), verglückt noch mal, kur. von Via Lewandowsky, Galerie Ute Parduhn, Düsseldorf (D), Abstraktion & Überleben, Kunstbunker Nuremberg (D) (Kat.).

In der aktuellen Ausstellung zeigt Boggasch mehrere Malerein, welche trotz ihrer dunklen Farbigkeit an eine kleine private Kosmologie in Öl erinnern. Im kleinsten Raum der Galerie schwebt ein abstraktes Mobile, wo die KünstlerIn am Abend der Eröffnung parallel zu ihren Bildern entstandene Musikstücke abspielt. Der Titel der Ausstellung bezieht sich auf die suprematistische Oper, die 1912 von Malewitsch konzipiert, im Lunatheater in St. Petersburg uraufgeführt wurde, wofür Malewitsch auch Bühnenbild und Kostüme entworfen hat. Dies geschah kurz vor der Entstehung des „Schwarzen Quadrats“.

In the current exhibition Boggasch shows new paintings on canvas, which remind you despite their dark colouredness of a small private cosmology in oil. In the smallest room of the gallery will be a abstract mobile, where at the preview the artist will play some of her music compositions. „Sieg über die Sonne“ – the exhibition title – is from an opera by Malewitsch from 1912, where he also did the costumes and the stage. This happened just before he did the famous „Black Square“.
